Facts About Acne - May 25th, 2009

While there are quite a few different beliefs about acne and the way it comes and goes, there are a few simple facts and quite a few myths about acne and its treatments as well as its ultimate causes.  We list a few of the truths below.

1. Antibiotics don’t work sometimes

Dermatologists tend to tell you that antibiotics are completely safe and completely effective even for severe cases of acne or maybe especially for different cases of acne.  In truth, antibiotics can wear off in effectiveness over time just like those you might take for a cold, you might develop more resistant strains, and they don’t always work in the first place.  They definitely do cause side effects though, killing off good bacteria in the stomach

2. You Don’t Have To Spend A Lot Of Money

No, the simple answer is you don’t.  There are plenty of treatments now emerging that have better formulas than the industry has ever seen before.  But at the same point in time, they have lower price tags than the industry has seen in most cases before.

3. Your Options Are Not Limited

the acne treatment market is constantly expanding, and you are by no means limited in your choices at this point in time.  In fact, you are always obtaining new options that don’t rely on the same old ingredients, which is definitely a positive thing for many users.

4. You Can Get The Same Things Without A Prescription

This doesn’t apply in every case.  But in many cases, such as with benzoyl peroxide, the exact same formula is actually available over the counter and in multiple treatments.
