Are male enhancement products safe? - December 10th, 2009

Male enhancement products have been all the rage for years.  First, we had prescription options, and frankly speaking, some men take it as a joke, and yet they have become household names.  But the reality is that prescriptions like Viagra can be dangerous, even causing impotence in some cases.  And that can of course be embarrassing at the very least

So are there any male enhancement products that are safe?  And while we see the most popular ones such as Enzyte, does Enzyte work?  We like safety of course.  But in many cases, we would rather have results, even at a greater cost as has been shown with multiple options that cause many dangers and yet we continue to use them.  Because ultimately speaking, they work.

Products like Enzyte don’t necessarily give you what you want.  When you ask does Enzyte work, you are expecting a strait answer, and I will give you one.  It doesn’t work.  Its ingredients are in small and weak dosages to say the least, and frankly speaking, some of them are not safe.  So the question of does Enzyte work is relevant.  After all, one wants to really know if it’s worth it to take the plunge.  But no it doesn’t work, which negates everything else.

As far as safety however, one should note that some of these supposed natural male enhancement products can actually be quite dangerous.  They can have exactly the wrong effects, and they could be just as dangerous in some ways as some of the prescriptions.  They have side effects not so much in the way of impotence, but sometimes more in the range of heart attacks, strokes, high blood pressure, and otherwise.  So it’s something to look out for.

But if you want a safe option that actually works, there is one product called Orexis.  Orexis has all the right natural ingredients in considerable amounts, and it doesn’t come with major side effects unless of course you happen to have allergies.  So it’s definitely worth trying out.  And it has already provided results for many as proof of their current efficacy.

Eggnog - September 24th, 2009

Eggnog is often used and eaten at special holidays such as thanksgiving; however, eggnog is available throughout the year but not all the time and can be eaten anytime. Eggnog provide good nutrients of calcium, protein, various vitamins including vitamins C and Vitamins A. Obviously, eggnog is made from eggs and therefore, I think they contain and provide healthy nutrients which are also provided in eggs. It may sound not so delicious to many people I’m guessing but I heard that there are raw eggnog, made with raw eggs. From what I have heard, raw eggnog might provide more nutrients including various enzymes, etc. that might not be available through regular eggnog. And of course, eggnog can be simply cooked or used as a drink, or I heard there are more various ways to include eggnog in cooking. Some examples might include making breads, cookies, even ice cream, etc. I’m sure that there are many more. Some people might not like the taste of eggnog and so I think using eggnog as ingredients is still a great idea because you’re still likely to get nutrients from the eggnog. And you can always make your own eggnog right at home with customized recipe and with healthy ingredients.

Potato Salads - September 18th, 2009

There are many different kinds of salads in which I think most of them contain leafy greens as its main ingredients. And of course, there are so many different various types of salads such as pasta salads, fruit salads, and there are potato salads as well. I know, it may sound like mashed potato type of a dish however I personally think they are really different although I must say that they are both delicious. Potato salads are and can be very simple—just slice them into cubes, and you can decide to bake them, boil them, etc. and you can mix them in with some mayonnaise, other types of desired sauces. And with some sprinkling of cheese and veggies, yum! Also I once heard very interesting thing about potatoes which is that using raw potatoes can help with acne. I thought this was very interesting. Anyways, back to potato salads—even within potato salads, there are many different types depending on what you use for ingredients. What are some benefits of potato you may ask? Potatoes provide good sources of starch, fiber, potassium, iron, and many more. One of the good things about potatoes is that they make you full with its good carbohydrates and so you’re likely to eat a lot.

Cranberries And Acne - September 14th, 2009

Cranberries are one of the many fruits which can help with providing good sources of antioxidants—therefore, helping to improve our immune system and more. And cranberries also provide good sources of fiber, vitamin Cs, and many more. Although I’m not so sure if this is true or not, I have heard once that cranberries can help with preventing or treating acne on our face.

I heard that for acne prevention, you need to consume a lot of vitamin A and maybe cranberries can provide those good vitamin nutrients. Nevertheless, that is something that I just heard. Of course, I’m sure that there are many more great benefits that can come from eating cranberries. As it is with many of other types of fruits, I heard that it will taste the best and probably provide its full nutrients when eaten fresh or raw.

You can also cook with them along with many other tasty nutrients and more! And there is cranberry juice which is one my personal favorite juices and they provide good refreshing taste while providing some good antioxidants. As mentioned, cranberries can be cooked, eaten as it is, or mix it in with other ingredients. With its juicy flavor, cranberries will provide healthy nutrients.

Whiteheads - September 12th, 2009

Acne on our face can get frustrating and while there can be many types of acne on our face, one of which is the whiteheads. What exactly are whiteheads you may ask? They are kind of like blackheads in a way but they can occur on our face and whether our skin type may be oily or dry and its color appear to be white instead of black. I don’t know about you but I sometimes get annoyed when blackheads occur and well, I think it’s the same thing with whiteheads. Nevertheless, they can be eliminated and prevented using some tips.

First off, I heard that it might be good idea to wash your face at least twice daily especially if you have more of oily skin. And when washing face, I think it’s important to remember to wash gently because our face can be sensitive and be sure use product that fits with your skin type. As this can also help with other types of acne, I heard that drinking lots of water really does help out as well as many other health benefits, of course. I heard that sometimes, whiteheads usually can go away after a couple of days so I think it can be worth it to be patient about it.

Shrinking Pores - July 22nd, 2009

Pores and oils are actually important in our skincare.  Now I always wish I had smaller pores, I’m perfectly willing to admit this even with my pride and all.  The pores are extremely important in opening up hair follicles on the skin, and frankly if your pores are too small, they can squeeze out hair growth, which causes balding, not a good thing.  So that makes it a bit of a good thing that my pores are huge.

Granted, I use a regular astringent which shrinks the pores a bit naturally.  But still, I don’t use it on my head for obvious reasons.  But pores frankly are not that bad a thing.  They dilate and become visible yes, but they’re caused by genetic factors in frequency, size, etc.  So you really aren’t going to permanently change your pores.  But as you get older, when they are damaged by the sun, pollution, etc, they actually increase and expand in size, and this can cause more aesthetic problems.  So I’m not sure that I like that idea, being that I already want to shrink them.  But if you minimize them with a good astringent, you can really make a difference, and frankly if you clean as well on a regular basis, it also helps.

Chemical Peels For Acne - July 11th, 2009

Until recently, I never even knew chemical peels were for anything but wrinkles or possibly dark spots and essentially peeling off an undesired layer or few layers of the skin.  But as it turns out, people quite frequently use chemical peels to get rid of acne.  After all, with all that burning and peeling of a number of layers, you actually kill off a lot of bacteria, possibly acne causing bacteria.

They use ingredients such as benzoyl peroxide, glycolic acid, and various other ingredients, and there are varying severities depending on how many levels you would like to peel off.  The top 2 types actually bleach the skin and they produce 2nd degree burns.  They don’t do them on people with darker skin, but I can think of a number of people who probably got a few of the more severe chemical peels in their time that by this rule weren’t supposed to.  Even the lightest type however can be extremely painful and damaging.

It is used on sensitive skin types, but only because they won’t actually allow you to have the harsher types if you have this.  On this note, though benzoyl peroxide is obviously used in a very high concentration here that could burn off a couple layers, when you use a regular product and you feel that tingling sensation, it is not because it’s killing off bacteria that you feel that.  It is a mild pain response that is far multiplied when you get a chemical peel of that type.

Cost Of Acne Treatments - July 9th, 2009

There was a recent study that allowed American teens specifically to voice their opinion on acne medications and treatments.  Apparently, American teens in general would pay big bucks to be acne free.  I’m not sure we could say the same for parents, depending of course partly on their particular income.  But they found they would be willing to pay more than $100 for a month’s supply to be acne free than they’d pay to clear acne by 50% which was $10 or to have clear skin that happened to also have acne scars, which was $0.

Those with more severe money put higher estimates in for what they would be willing to pay to see greater results and the clearing of acne.  Acne has been shown to cause great embarrassment in teens and adults alike.  It has been shown to cause anxiety, depression, embarrassment, and social problems in general.  With knowledge of this, it should motivate researchers to get the best products out or eliminate acne with better solutions in general.  Well at least you would think so.  Most just release more hyped up products in lieu of those great products that would actually work not only in theory, but in real life instances and areas.

Facts About Acne - May 25th, 2009

While there are quite a few different beliefs about acne and the way it comes and goes, there are a few simple facts and quite a few myths about acne and its treatments as well as its ultimate causes.  We list a few of the truths below.

1. Antibiotics don’t work sometimes

Dermatologists tend to tell you that antibiotics are completely safe and completely effective even for severe cases of acne or maybe especially for different cases of acne.  In truth, antibiotics can wear off in effectiveness over time just like those you might take for a cold, you might develop more resistant strains, and they don’t always work in the first place.  They definitely do cause side effects though, killing off good bacteria in the stomach

2. You Don’t Have To Spend A Lot Of Money

No, the simple answer is you don’t.  There are plenty of treatments now emerging that have better formulas than the industry has ever seen before.  But at the same point in time, they have lower price tags than the industry has seen in most cases before.

3. Your Options Are Not Limited

the acne treatment market is constantly expanding, and you are by no means limited in your choices at this point in time.  In fact, you are always obtaining new options that don’t rely on the same old ingredients, which is definitely a positive thing for many users.

4. You Can Get The Same Things Without A Prescription

This doesn’t apply in every case.  But in many cases, such as with benzoyl peroxide, the exact same formula is actually available over the counter and in multiple treatments.
